SYMBOLIC CALCULATION OF SURFACE EDDY CURRENT TRANSDUCERS SIGNAL OVER DISCONTINUITY TYPE PITTING OF METAL. Part 1
(pp. 33-38)

Abstract. Theoretical model of surface eddy current transducer signal over a surface continuity of metal as pitting of metal is considered. In the first part the analytical calculation of density distribution function of eddy currents induced on the surface of the metal and on the faces of the surface discontinuity is performed. In the second part the calculation of surface eddy current transducer signal over pitting on the basis of the magnetic moments of eddy currents in the metal is performed. The influence of metal pitting geometric parameters on the signal of eddy current transducer is investigated. It has been shown that signal of surface eddy-current transducer metal unlike to a surface defect such as a crack, have positive polarity over the pitting of metal.
