The article presents an investigation of the acoustic emission method possibilities for solving the problem of diagnosing flexible polymer reinforced pipes (GPAT) of an incoherent structure. The main types of structures and mechanisms of destruction of GPAT are considered. The regulatory framework and inspection procedures for FPRP in the oil and gas industry are discussed, and the advantages and disadvantages of APRP diagnostics are identified. An experimental research methodology has been developed, including the stages of preparation, initial (on samples without introduced defects) and repeat (on samples with introduced defects) AE testing during hydraulic testing, as well as a data analysis stage. The most informative parameters for determining the prerequisites for destruction have been identified, and recommendations have been developed for further development of the topic. Keywords: flexible polymer reinforced pipes, GPAT, hydraulic testing, non-destructive testing, acoustic emission method, electrochemical corrosion.
