The method of determination of wood species by means of spectral methods is considered. It is shown that use of the Raman spectroscopy allows to increase assurance of determination of wood species in comparison with consideration of spectrums of diffusion dispersion. The description of a design of spectrophotometers intended for identification of wood species is provided. Keywords: wood, the Raman spectroscopy, diffusion reflection, spectrophotometer.
